PEI nominates workers through its Workforce streams and Express Entry, and entrepreneurs through the Business Impact category. This guide summarises the streams and the costs involved.
Canada's Prince Edward Island Immigration Pathway
For workers abroad with a PEI job offer in a TEER 0 to 3 occupation.
For workers already employed full-time in PEI in TEER 4 or 5 positions.
For entrepreneurs; the only Business Impact route listed on PEI's business forms page.
For workers with a PEI job offer in one of eight listed occupations.
There is no separate healthcare stream. PEI prioritises health care in workforce draws.
For candidates in the federal Express Entry pool.
PEI runs employer-driven workforce streams that use an Expression of Interest, plus an Express Entry stream and a Business Impact work permit stream. The Office of Immigration currently prioritises health care, trades and childcare.
Skilled Workers Outside Canada need a PEI job offer and employer authorization, not a prior connection. Critical Workers must already be working full-time in PEI. PEI Express Entry gives priority to applicants currently working in the province.
The PEI stream pages do not publish a fixed processing time. An EOI that is not selected receives no decision, and workforce EOI profiles expire after 6 months. After nomination, IRCC sets its own PR processing times.
